Armando Camarena was born and raised in Azusa, California. He was appointed Parks and Recreation Commissioner in 1980, then City Councilman from 1983–1986. He was also a former Scoutmaster at St. Frances of Rome in Azusa, California; a member of the Catholic Committee on Scouting for the San Gabriel Valley; and was presented the Pelican Award by Cardinal Manning.
He attended Citrus College, majoring in data processing. Armando worked in the computer industry for 14 years with such companies as Sunkist Growers, Caltech, Challenge Foods, and Cal Life Insurance. He left the computer industry in 1989 and went to work at Nationwide Auctions as VP of Sales, while opening auction facilities in Kansas City, Missouri, Atlanta, Georgia, and Wilmington, Delaware. Armando started US Auctions in 2005 with locations in Pomona, California, and Benicia, California, with current locations in Ontario, California, and Dixon, California. US Auctions provides services to several cities, counties, state and federal agencies, law enforcement, and the utilities industry in such states as California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Idaho, and Arizona. Auctions are conducted locally in Ontario and Dixon, California, and are projected internationally.
