Dr. Angelo Farooq is a small business owner with a professional background in real estate and economic development.
He is appointed as the Chairman of the California Workforce Development Board (CWDB) under Governor Gavin Newsom administration. CWDB is responsible for governing all federal workforce funds to the State and developing a common policy framework for the overall $6 billion annual system that includes over 200 America Job Centers in California.
Angelo is elected on the Board of Education for Riverside Unified School District since 2015. He is appointed as Co-Chair for CA Treasurer Fiona Ma’s Housing & Economic Development Advisory Council and appointed by CA Controller Betty Yee on her Council of Economic Advisors to help shape comprehensive tax reform for the State.
Angelo serves as a Founding Board of Director for ExCITE technology incubator/accelerator; and the Hispanic Coalition of Small Businesses (HCSB).
EDUCATION
Angelo earned his Bachelor degree from UC Berkeley; and Executive Master and Doctorate of Policy, Planning & Development degrees from the University of Southern California.
