MERCEDES ALCOCER

Board of Directors
Entrepreneur/Event Planner

Event Venue Owner: The Hollywood Hall; Fandango Banquet; The Grand Salon

A native of Yucatán, México, Mercedes Alcocer truly embodies the American dream and exemplifies the positive impact women have on our economy. Due to her entrepreneurial spirit, her first employer in California was herself. In 2008, she started an event planning business, working out of her home. In 2017, after much sacrifice, she opened her first event center in the County of Riverside. Located in Moreno Valley, The Hollywood Hall remains the jewel of her empire.

In 2019, she decided to invest in and operate a second event center in Moreno Valley, Fandango Banquet, a larger operation. Ms. Alcocer was able to weather the storm brought on by COVID and, despite the financial challenges resulting from the pandemic, she continued to grow her business. In 2022, she expanded into San Bernardino County, opening The Grand Salon in Colton. Currently, Ms. Alcocer’s businesses host over 250 events per year, employing many of our local workforce to help host her events.

Beyond her entrepreneurial spirit, Ms. Alcocer is also dedicated to giving back to the community. She has partnered with Fundación Sin Fronteras, a local nonprofit, to raise funds that go back to our community. In addition to donating her time and services to local causes, Ms. Alcocer also donates to many causes in her native Yucatan, from providing financial support to local schools and assisting to empower and educate women in penal institutions.
